How to Choose Flood Control Sandbags

Common Models and Applicable Scenarios
The size of flood control sandbags directly affects their effectiveness. There are two main common models:

Small bags (40×60 cm): Suitable for quick handling by a single person, weighing approximately 15 kg. They can be stacked flexibly to fill gaps, but their protective height is limited.

Large bags (50×80 cm): Weighing up to 25 kg when filled with sand, they offer more ideal protective height and are suitable for constructing main defense lines, but require two people to handle.

Key Considerations for Selection
Matching the model according to the characteristics of the usage environment is more scientific:

Rescue Speed: For sudden emergencies, prioritize small bags; a single person can drop 3-4 bags per minute.

Protection Time Long-term flood control: Larger sandbags are recommended to reduce the risk of leakage at seams.

Terrain limitations: Smaller bags are more flexible in confined spaces, while larger bags are more efficient in open areas.

Manpower allocation: When sufficient personnel are available, sandbags can be used in combination, with a first layer of larger bags as the foundation and a top layer of smaller bags for reinforcement.

Practical usage tips: These methods can maximize the effectiveness of sandbags:

Staggered stacking: Place sandbags in a crisscross pattern, like building a wall, increasing stability by 50%.

Waterproof lining: Adding a plastic sheet to the inside of the sandbag wall doubles the seepage prevention effect.

Bag opening orientation: Fold the bag openings inward after filling to prevent them from being washed away by water flow.

Bottom reinforcement: Bury the first layer of sandbags 10 cm into the ground to prevent water seepage from the bottom.
